Hillhurst Nighthawks The Hillhurst Nighthawks are a feeder team for the Calgary Kookaburras. They were founded in 2008 and won the inaugural Alberta Footy Women's League. Based in residential Hillhurst, Calgary, their home ground is the Queen Elizabeth School fields.

Kensington Kingfishers The Kensington Kingfishers are a feeder team for the Calgary Kookaburras. They were founded in 2008 and came runner-up in the inaugural Alberta Footy Women's League. Based in trendy Kensington, Calgary, they share the Queen Elizabeth School fields with Hillhurst.

Edmonton Emus
The Edmonton Emus are an independent women's footy club based in central Alberta. They were founded in 2008 and will play their first season in the Alberta Footy Women's League in 2009. Based in Garneau, Edmonton, their home ground is in the beautiful North Saskatchewan River valley.
